Richard M. 'Dick' Burke, Sr. Born in Philadelphia, PA on Nov. 9, 1928. Departed on Jul. 15, 2010 and resided in Bloomfield Hills, MI.
Dick was a proud veteran United States Air Force, serving during WWII. He was an Engineer for Chrysler Corporation for 46 years.
Beloved husband of Gloria M. (nee. Altemir) for 54 years. Dear father of Richard M. Burke, Jr. (Betsy), Bruce A. Burke, and Valerie B. McBain (Scott). Grandfather of Skyler, Alexis, Colleen, Sarah and A.J. Brother of Carolyn Vizzini.

John A. Worthy Algonac John A. Worthy age 84, died June 21, 2010 in the Medilodge of St. Clair. He was born October 18, 1925 in Altoona, PA. to the late Alexander and Ethel Worthy. He married Marise Belville on March 3, 1951. John graduated from Northeastern High School in Detroit, MI. in 1943. He attended Knoxville University of Tennessee. He served as an Air Cadet with the U.S. Army Air Corp during WW II. John retired from Chrysler Corp in 1983 as an Executive Manager.
John loved boating and restoring his antique Garwood boat and was a member of the Antique and Classic Boat Society. He also enjoyed many years of traveling, mostly of Europe. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Algonac. Mr. Worthy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marise, son Gary of Scottsdale, AZ, grandson Michael of Brooklyn, NY. and Michael's mother Maribeth of Leominster, MA. Funeral services 7:30 p.m. Friday June 25, 2010 in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac.

Mr. Furnish was retired from the Chrysler Corporation and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Richard William "Dick" Marr TRAVERSE CITY — Richard "Dick" William Marr, 79, of Traverse City, passed away
Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Munson Medical Center. Richard was
born June 8, 1930, in Detroit, to the late Mary (Peterson) and
Ernest W. Marr. He graduated from Pershing High School in Detroit,
after which he went on to earn a degree in Business Management from
Wayne State University in Detroit. He married Jean E. Blanchard on
June 27, 1953. Richard honorably served as a Private in the Army for
The United States of America. After completion of his military duty,
he had a 30-year career at the Chrysler Corporation. He also had a
successful entrepreneurial career in educational services with
Kaplan Educational Centers and SMH Bar Review. He retired as an
executive and moved to Traverse City in 1988.
Young at heart, Richard lived every day to its fullest, rewarding
family and friends with his humor, help and time. He also enjoyed
traveling across the United States and around the world, highlighted
by a tour around the Pacific Ocean visiting Hawaii, Japan, Hong
Kong, Singapore, Australia and Fiji. Richard will be missed by his
surviving family; wife, Jean E. Marr; children, Kevin (Marilyn),
Brian (Rae), Laurie Umlauf (Gary), Kathy Simpson (Brad) and Andrew
(Carolyn); as well as his 10 grandchildren. Richard was preceded in
death by his mother, Mary; father, Ernest; and sister, Gale
Morrissey. Richard will also be missed by the Grand Traverse County
and Traverse City communities, where he provided volunteer work with
The Heritage Center, Kiwanis Club, Economic Club and Service Corps
of Retired Executives (SCORE). To these organizations he lent his
time and experience to raise funds, mentor business entrepreneurs
and make local events a success and fun for all.
A memorial service will be held today, March 13, at
Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, from 4 until 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The
Heritage Center or Salvation Army, both of Traverse City. Kindly

Donald Hartley Lander- At the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on
Friday February 19, 2010 in his 85th year.
Donald Lander of Orillia, beloved husband of Dorothy Lander (nee Balmer). Loving
father of Marilyn Russell of Orillia, the late David & his wife Deana of London,
Donna & husband Paul Hutchinson of Orillia, Lynda & husband Lyle Dorie of
Orillia. Loved grandfather of Devon, Gavin, Morgan, Mercedes, Braden & Brieanne
and great grandfather of Sydney. Dear brother of Dorothy Ross & husband Murray
of Oro and the late Bruce Lander. Donald commenced his business career with
General Motors of Canada, principally in the sales division for 17 years. During
this period 1 1/2 years were spent in the R.C.A.F. (Air Crew Pilot).
He moved to the Chrysler Corporation where for 22 years held senior executive
positions in Various divisions and subsidiaries in Canada, United States and
Europe. These responsibilities in part were Managing Director of Chrysler United
Kingdom Ltd, V.P. Chrysler Corporation Europe, Middle East and Africa, Group
V.P. Chrysler Corporation and President/Chairman of the Board of Chrysler
International and Chairman of the Board and President of Chrysler Canada Ltd.
Briefly and prior to moving to Canada Post Corporation spent some months
consulting and with the Delorean Motor Car Corporation in the United Kingdom as
Managing Director preparing the vehicle for production and launch. He joined
Canada Post Corporation in 1984 in the capacity of Executive V.P. and Chief
Operating Officer. He was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in
1986 and Chairman of the Board in July 1993. Before retiring from Canada Post in
1984 he held various Board positions with G.D. Net B.V. Amsterdam, G.D. Express
Netherlands, The International Post Corporation Brussels and Purolator Canada.
Donald is the recipient of the Order of Canada and the Order of Malta.

March 26, 2010. A Memorial service will be held in the chapel on Saturday March

Peter Dawson Age 77. Died January 28, 2010.
Married to Julie Whitney Dawson in 1966. Born in Cleveland , moved to Birmingham
in 1952, automotive engineer: Chrysler, Ford, and Car Skates. Interests included
cars, auto-racing, motor scooters, world travel, theatre. Earned degrees from
DePauw University, Case Institute, and Chrysler Institute.In addition to Julie,
family members include parents Clare and Ruth Dawson (deceased); brother George
(deceased) and his wife Shirley; and his nephews and niece and their families:

Donald Philip Voorhis Age 65, of the Tellico Village Community Loudon, TN,
formerly of Birmingham, MI, passed away of ALS (Lou Gehrig Disease) on February
1, 2010. in Macro Economics June of 1968. Don was a member of Gamma X
Chapter University of Cincinnati class of 1967. He worked his entire career at
Chrysler Corporation in Michigan. Don was a loving husband, father and
grandfather. Preceded in death by father, Howard Voorhis, mother, Betty Voorhis,
and first wife Patricia Rogers Voorhis. Survived by his current wife, Cheryl
Voorhis; daughters, Jenny Mitchell and husband, Jordan of Kirkland WA, Sarah
Fraley and husband, Kevin of Milan, MI; grandchildren, Hannah Hunter, Joseph and
Miranda; His second family who loved and adored him, Cheryl’s children, James
Turner and his wife Ebru, Kimberly Dickerson and her husband, Kent, Tracie Bondy
and her husband Scott, and Darrel Turner; grandchildren Kaitlin, Avery, Savanna,
Jesse, Hunter, Jack, Cheyenne, Ciara and Dakota. The family received friends

WILLIAM R. RICE, former Chrysler Executive who retired in 1986, passed
away July 9, 2009. Bill & Carol Price were married Feb. 11, 1956 in Detroit.
Carol preceded Bill in death January 9, 2005. Bill was an Army veteran who
served in Korea. Carol & Bill moved permanently to Sand Point (Pigeon, Michigan)
in 1986

David
R. Hobbs Age 87, of Farmington Hills, passed away December 21, 2009. David
was born November 12, 1922 in Knoxville, Tennessee to W.R. and Ferol Hubbs. He
received a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Univ. of Tenn. and earned
subsequent Masters’ degrees from Chrysler Inst. and Wayne State University.
David worked as an engineer for Chrysler Corp. and taught at Lawrence Tech.,
retiring in 1980 and 1995 respectively. David enjoyed volunteering and was named
Goodfellow of the Year in 2002. He is survived by his wife Nancy, his children,
David Jr., Roger, Kay, and Diane, daughters-in-law, Kate and Julie,
grandchildren, Valerie and Eric and his sister Virginia Kinlaw. Visitation and
funeral services will be held at Orchard United Methodist Church, 30450
Farmington Rd., Farmington Hills. Visitation Monday 5-8 pm; Funeral service
Tuesday 1pm. Donations may be made to Farmington Area Goodfellows, 31455 West

Richard
L. "Dick" Kessler, 83, of Boise, Idaho passed away on Friday, November 27,
2009, at a local care center following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
His wife, Dorothy, was at his side. Dick was born in Jackson, Minnesota, on
October 27, 1926, son of the late Charles J. and Alice M. (Kruger) Kessler.
During his childhood, he lived in Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin where he
graduated from Lake Geneva High School in 1944. After serving in the Army Air
Force, he attended Michigan Technological University where he was an active
member of Sigma Rho fraternity. He graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science
in Mechanical Engineering. In 1951, he earned his Master of Automotive
Engineering from the Chrysler Institute of Engineering, and began a 31-year
career with Chrysler Corporation. In 1952, Dick married Patricia Ann McCann with
whom he had four children. Through an illustrious career with Chrysler, Dick and
his family had the opportunity to experience life in Michigan, Argentina,
Switzerland, Greece, Missouri, Delaware, and Mexico. In addition to his career,
he contributed his time to many other activities, including Junior Achievement,
United Way, Boy Scouts of America, Society of Automotive Engineers and
Toastmasters International. In 1983 he retired to Pinehurst, NC, to play golf
and enjoy his other interests that included wood-working, bridge, music,
crossword puzzles, and computers. Dick cared for Pat through an extended
illness, eventually losing her in 1990.
Dick met and then married Dorothy Compton True in 1991. Together they had
their own international adventures visiting Hungary, Spain, Portugal, England
and Italy. After sharing 14 years in Pinehurst, playing golf and enjoying many
friends, they relocated to Dorothy's hometown of Boise, Idaho, in 2006. Dick is
survived by his wife Dorothy; four children, Lee of Linden, MI, Christine of
Mansfield, TX, Craig (Lynda) of Hilton Head, SC, and Pamela of Palm Beach
Gardens, FL, and two grandchildren, Christopher and Kelly; Dorothy's children,
Lee (Jana) True and Marylinn Harding, all of Boise, ID, six grandchildren and
one great-grandchild; his sisters, Janis Smith of Oshkosh, WI, and Phyllis
(Greg) Sacho of Green Bay, WI; and many other relatives and dear friends. We
wish to thank the dedicated staff in the Special Care Unit of the Idaho State
Veterans Home for the professional, respectful and loving care they gave Dick.
They were truly a blessing to our family.
A memorial service to honor Dick's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday,
January 9, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church, Cathedral of the Rockies,
717 N. 11th Street in Boise. Memorial contributions may be made to the

George Dumas suffered a stroke about 5 yrs ago and Jo has been trying
to take care of hm. He recently got a lot worse and Jo had her hands full.
Yesterday, she ended up in Beaumont with serious blood clots. Life threatening,
the Dr. said. Keep Jo and George in your prayers.
