Timeline for YSA Payment of Claim with RHCA funds

December 17, 2014

What is the timing involved in receiving reimbursement from the RHCA for qualified expenses?

My experience has always been that when a claim is made to Your Spending Account for RHCA reimbusement, the claim is Denied (lack of funds)

Then YSA submits a request to Merrill Lynch for funds to pay the claim. Then YSA receives funds and initiate payment.

However I not seen any information on the time line for this sequence of actions. Please provide.

Also, since YSA never has a funds from a client’s …

Health Care Fund

From NCRO Member Donald  Herman:

I would be interested in knowing how many people have experienced a problem with their $1975.00 health care fund.  I have been calling Benefit Express–talked with supervisors from both Chrysler and Hewitt and have still not received by funding.   I wait on the line and get transferred to many individuals only to hear that a work ticket is being processed.  I have called every week in April and some weeks twice.  Chrysler states the money was transferred to Hewitt and they …

Why the change in 1099-R reporting from Chrysler?

From NCRO member graunke@netscape.com
For the past 20 years my 1099-R showed box 2a (Taxable amount) blank, and box 9b (Total employee contributions) with the amount that I contributed.  My 2011 1099-R shows box 2a with the same figure as box 1 (Gross distribution) and box 9b (Total employee contributions) blank.  I contacted Benefit Express several times and they responded saying that Chrysler would not change anything.   I contacted another retiree and his 2011 1099-R also showed the same condition.
It appears that Chrysler is …

Problems with Reimbursements from Ben Express/Hewitt

Problems with Reimbursements from Ben Express/Hewitt

I am experiencing 2 huge problems with getting medical expense claims processed by Hewitt through Benefits Express, as follows:

However, funds have been taken from my Merrill Lynch Chrysler Stable Value Fund over the past 2 weeks that total over $1750.  Thus, my concern here is what will happen with the excess funds?

 I spoke with a …

Returning to RHCA Benefits after opting-out

Dear NCRO,

Benefits Express was closed on 12/23 & 12/24. To my surprise, before I could call on Monday 12/27, a BE Supervisor called me to clarify the whole matter. Even though it does not appear anywhere in writing, I was told we are entitled to return to Retiree Health Care Benefits at any time prior to age 65 1) if non-Chrysler benefits are lost or 2) at annual enrollment.

Apparently you or someone else at the NCRO notified Chrysler who told BE to get my issue …

Pre-65 medicare problem

Pre-65 medicare problem

My wife is on SS disability and as a result she will be eligible for medicare in April of 2011. She won’t turn 65 until October. According to what I read in the Chrysler benefits info this means that medicare will become her primary insurance and Chrysler will be secondary. There is no detailed info on what this really means or what happens to the premiums I am paying for the BCBS PPO she currently has. Talking to BE did not help a …
