MEMBER QUESTION:

DEALER RESPONSE

The forward collision light is on but there was no collision. This happened on both the 24 Jeep Renegade and the 25 Jeep Compass. Both times happened when it was freezing rain out and the car was in a parking lot for a while. Is there any way to reset that?

This condition will often occur during the winter because the adaptive cruise control is disabling itself due to weather conditions. Sometimes clearing the sensor is all that’s needed but I will also turn off the forward collision. These are the steps to turn it back on. This can be reset by going into settings, safety and driving assistance, forward collision warning, pedestrian warning. Turn that setting from off to on and it will reset the system. If this does not correct the issue, then it should be brought in for service.

I would like to know what is being done regarding the sensitivity of the touch screen in recent and new Stellantis vehicles.  There are times when touching my finger tip to the touch screen (to change from one mode to another, such as climate control to radio), nothing happens after multiple attempts.  If the weather, or my finger is a bit cold, there’s nothing I can do to make the touch screen react properly.

If the car and screen are very cold it can cause a delay and sensitivity changes with the touch screen until warmed up. That’s fairly normal for most.
